Dr. R. Todd Plott is a board-certified dermatologist who possesses a rare combination of compassion, 30+ years of experience, and good-natured humor. He takes caring for people seriously, and makes apprehensive and vulnerable patients feel comfortable. He enjoys diagnosing tough cases and has a special passion for treating patients suffering with acne. His specialization and professional interests also include identifying and solving complex skin conditions such as psoriasis, rosacea, atopic dermatitis, and treating all types of skin cancers.

Before entering private practice, Dr. Plott was a research physician and spent years developing several of the dermatologic drugs most widely prescribed by dermatologists. Among his most notable achievements is the invention of Solodyn,® a treatment for moderate to severe acne, for which he was awarded eight patents. He also helped develop Ziana® Gel, Noritate® cream, Carac® cream, Lotrisone® lotion, Vano cream, Loprox® Shampoo, and many other skin treatments.
Throughout his years working in the pharmaceutical industry, Dr. Plott monitored tens of thousands of patients and hundreds of clinical trials. After years of successful clinical research, he returned to his home state of Texas in 2009 to begin seeing patients. He established his own private practice in 2011, then joined Epiphany in 2017. From 2016-2021, he was honored to be appointed to the FDA’s Dermatologic and Ophthalmic Drug Advisory committee.
Dr. Plott currently serves as Epiphany’s Chief Medical Officer and is on its Board of Directors. He see patients two days a week in Epiphany’s Southlake and Keller offices.
In his spare time, Dr. Plott enjoys cycling, traveling with his wife, and spending time with his children and four grandchildren.
